Hello friends ~
What can you
expect at the
Chicagoland Dance Festival? Let’s start with more
fun than
you can shake a stick at! Whether you’re a competitor or a social
dancer,
we want you to have a great time dancing in Sweet Home, Chicago. We know
you have lots of options when it comes to dance events and we want this
weekend to be time and effort well-spent. You are our
guests. We expect our volunteers and staff to do whatever it
takes to make you feel at home. We expect that our contests
be
conducted fairly and that our contest staff treat our competitors
professionally. We expect to redefine dance-event
hospitality! There are special touches you can count on at Chicagoland:
- A free Chicago-style pizza party
hosted by
our friends at Swing ‘n Country.
- Saturday night show and Masters competition included with your weekend pass.
- Guaranteed prize money for Masters,
Classic
Open Division 1, the top 5 UCWDC Pro-Am instructors and top 3 Swing Pro-Am instructors.
- Complimentary score reports and
nifty crystal paperweights for all competitors.
- Workshops for absolute beginners.
- Cookies and coffee at registration
on Friday.
- Duck jokes from
Jennifer – they’ll quack you up
- Pet-therapy from our Boston
Terrier, Max!
Amazing downtown
Chicago is
only 2 blocks, 2 bucks and a quick train trip away. It’s well-worth the
trip, and if
you can schedule an extra day to explore, you won’t regret
it. The White Sox are in town against the Baltimore. Drop us a note of you have any questions or want to say
hello.
We really hope to see you in Sweet Home, Chicago!

Jennifer and
Randy Jeffries
live just a couple of hours south of Chicago in Brookston, Indiana.
Jennifer and Randy have been active on the UCWDC circuit
since
1995: Jennifer as an MC and Randy as a floor coordinator and
scrutineer and recently, as a pro-am instructor. Jennifer won the 2006, 2007 and 2008 Star
Awards as the UCWDC’s favorite MC and the Chicagoland Dance
Festival was named favorite North American Event in 2006.
They
began competing in 1998 and now dance in Classic Crystal
1. Jennifer works at Purdue University and Randy for a Ford
dealership. They own the DanceMax Studio in beautiful downtown
Chalmers, Indiana (try to find THAT on a map!) where they teach by
appointment. Max,
their 10-year-old Boston Terrier, runs the household and lets them think they are in charge!
